TREND OF OLED MARKET IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2006

OLED market continues to grow every month. The market in 2005 has grown for about 150% compared to 2004, with the size of 55.6 million. Continue from 2005, the size of market in 2006 is expected to be grown as the similar extent to the previous year, with the size about 83,9 millions. Analysis indicates that PMOLED market shall grow to about 80.4 million with market size of 353 million.

Sales revenue of OLED market was created US$ 496.1 million in 2005. However, analysis indicates that the market is expected to be grown with the value of US$ 600.4 million in 2006, nevertheless continuous increase of sales, because of the rapid drop down of sales price. This reports provides information of each mobile application display trends OLED panel revenues in the first half of 2006.

Compared to the result of 2005, the first half of 2006 has resulted total 27.8 million shipping quantity and made sales of US$ 176.1 million, that is the shipping sales has increased for 130% which is 6.47 millions but the sales amount has decreased for US$ 30.1 million. This indicates that the amount of sales has decreased even though the size of market is increasing due to sales price cutting. The growth of quantity in the first half of 2006 compared to the same period of 2005 is evaluated to be satisfactory that would predict a market to grown up sufficiently.
In terms of shipping quantity of PMOLED in last year, RiTdisplay and Samsung SDI took 56% of total shipping country as the leading group. However, in the first half of 2006, Samsung SDI has cleared RiTdisplay away and took the first place with market share of 21% and 23% respectively at shipping quantity and sales amount, and the rest companies only remained about 10% of market share.
